This series was inspired by my recent move into a home built in the 1930’s. After years of living in high-rise buildings, I was unexpectedly taken with the charms of an older home, in particular the delicate yet sturdy glass doorknobs on every door, adorned by brass plates.

My series “This Old House” features doorknobs and doorways as visual metaphors of the lives lived in this house over time. Like people, each piece has it’s own personality. I had fun experimenting with different textures and colors with the aim to create striking yet graceful compositions that pay homage to a home that has withstood the test of time.
